Family
Family covers the relatives outside the immediate household and the biological family connections the child carries. In kinship placements the wagon's oxen are also family, and a piece may still sit primarily in this part when its frame is the wider family system. Pieces in this part address grandparents and aunts and uncles as caregiving infrastructure, the work of biological family contact when the child is in care, the long arc of sibling relationships across placements, the practice of maintaining connection where a child wants it and protecting from connection where a child does not, and the cultural and historical role of extended family. Forms that fit this part include `LENS`, `POLICY` on contact and visitation, `STAGE_GUIDE`, `STRATEGY_PRACTICE`, and `TRAIL_STORY`. The journey vocabulary includes: the wider family, the cousins on the trail, the connections the child still carries.
